Dear Members of the Community,

As many of you know, for years we shared a building with the HUB (121 N. George) for Mass on Sundays and other Holy Days. Unfortunately, that building was sold in the spring of 2022 and we lost our chapel. For the 2022-2023 school year we used a conference room in the SMC and while we are incredibly grateful to the University for hosting us, it was not an ideal location for our purposes. After much investigation into our options and prayerful consideration, we recently renovated part of our Newman House itself (227 N. George) to serve as a chapel. While we are happy with the results and are confident this change will serve our students well, it is limited in space. I know there was long history of many people from this area worshipping along with our students at our former location, but unfortunately our new chapel does not have enough room to regularly serve members of the community in addition to students and those associated with the University. While we certainly won’t turn people away, we would ask members of the community who are able to get to other parishes to leave room for our students, especially those without a car or means to get to a parish. If the time in particular was helpful, please be aware that Sacred Heart Parish has a 6pm Sunday Mass and St. John Neumann has a 5pm Sunday Mass. I am terribly sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding. You can reach me with any questions or concerns at millersvillecatholic@gmail.com. Know you are in my prayers and please keep our ministry in yours!
